Riseholme
Feeds
has been established for about 8 years and started off with one tonne
of horse feed in a very small wooden poultry shed at the bottom of the
garden to cater for our Livery Yard! We outgrew our small shed very
quickly and 3 years ago converted a general farm building into our current
shop. Riseholme Feeds expansion has exceeded all expectations and we
are looking to extend again this summer. If you visit us, you will find
a wide variety of animal feed and requisites, clothing, wormers, wheelbarrows
and even rabbit/guinea pig cages and runs. One of my customers calls
it a `Pet Superstore` and we like to coin the expression `Riseholme
Feeds for all your Pet`s needs`.
The
business was originally focused on the equestrian market but over time
have grown and expanded. “We offer something for nearly every
pet and their owner, form hamsters and guinea pigs to horses, dogs and
cats”.
Its
not only the feed that Lindsay and Riseholme have covered they also
provide a full range of accessories. Tagg clothing, Champion hats, boots
from Toggi and Equitector, gloves from SSG, Teque-style competition
shirts and Gorringe jodhpurs.
The
importance of an animal’s diet cannot be understated, getting
an adequate and healthy balance can be difficult and Lindsay is happy
to advise clients as to the best feeds for their pets. “Many people
believe that animals diets should be varied and interesting, animals
aren’t interested in what it looks like or if its different, they
just need feed that enables them to live happy and healthy lives”.
Riseholmes
commitment to animal welfare is apparent in everything they undertake
and to help people gain the correct nutritional balance for their pets,
they are currently developing their own brand horse and dog feed. They
are looking to provide a product that is a reasonable cost and offers
great nutritional value”.
Also
qualified to be able to dispense wormers for horses, dogs and cats,
the owner Lindsay is always on hand to provide advice and guidance on
all aspects of animal ownership.
The
team at Riseholme Feeds comprises Lindsay, Lesley, Sue and Tim, as well
as the obvious addition of Inca the German Shepherd, Caramel their resident
bunny rabbit and shop cats, Teasle, Tilly Tizzy and Pixie! All of the
staff are as dedicated to the well-being and happiness of their clients’
animals as Lindsay herself is and so they ensure whatever your pet needs,
they can help.
A
warm and friendly welcome awaits all those who visit Riseholme, and
not only can you gain great advice and high quality products, you are
also welcome to visit their vast array of animals. They open on Monday
and Tuesday from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, Wednesday from 9.00 am to 1.00
pm, Thursday and Friday from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm and Saturdays from 9.00
am to 5.00 pm
